SIBL Coach and Facilitator: Brian Allaway, Ex SFRS Chief Officer

The background to the monthly peer group coaching sessions at the DECAF online Oasis café for overstretched executives is outlined in the introductory summary of the event on the 7th February. This is a unique opportunity to step off the daily treadmill to work in confidence with peers ON the business. It often happens that others issues are yours too.

Today’s facilitator joined the Belfast Fire Service in 1969 as a sixteen-year-old. Brian served for forty-one years ie twenty-five in Northern Ireland (receiving the Queen’s Fire Service for distinguished service during the Troubles). Then sixteen in Scotland. He retired as the Chief Fire Officer of Lothian and Borders FRS. He has a BA from the Open University, an MSc from the Queens University of Belfast and a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, Brian is a Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers.
