“We spend our time reacting rationally to a world we recognise and understand but no longer exists.
About the Workshop
Have you noticed the bewildering pace of change? What about contemporary trends like hybrid working?
Did they take you by surprise? Have you unnoticed technology is changing faster than you can work out the implications. Do you find your interactions with other people more complex and perhaps less satisfying than you were used to? Have you noticed the forecasters can’t forecast properly anymore? Have your costs risen inexplicably and unexpectedly? Have you noticed that much of what you read and hear in the media doesn’t stitch together? Do your projects seem to unravel surprisingly?
Could you, like millions of other people, be using deep knowledge and capability that is now obsolete?
Eddie thinks so. In his popular TED Talk he explains in 12 minutes what is happening. He explains that the world ‘flipped at midnight and altered all the rules assumptions and heuristics but we all slept through it and carried on regardless. Watch the talk in advance https://EddieObeng.com/TED
Workshop Content Outline
Eddie will expand and explain the implications of not responding to these new ‘…Beyond midnight’ challenges and some of the behaviours emotions, actions and thoughts that we will need to adopt to survive and thrive in the current world. This interactive, dynamic thought-provoking session will cover:
- Why change?
- What to change to that seems to work?
- What to do to shift where we are stuck?
- How to make the transition?
- How to sustain the transition and engage colleagues and others for success
Eddie will use pragmatic examples and illustrations. He will share some of his 12-minute People Engagement and Possibility Exploration Tools (PETs). You will have fun learning, discussing, and applying.
Now you’ve read the outline if you have specific topics or questions, you wish Eddie to cover post them to https://qube.cc/TellProfObeng-HopesAndFears/ 24 hours before our talk
Workshop Outputs in a nutshell
You will leave with plenty of questions, some immediate concrete actions, and a resolve to go further.
There will be more to apply with your colleagues by taking advantage of the opportunity to sign up for Dojo-On-QUBE an 8 session Learn and Do programme structured in the traditional Japanese style delivered in a digital super reality campus. https://QUBE.cc/Dojo-on-QUBE
