Guest Speaker: Sarah Rozenthuler

Background
Most leadership development programmes have traditionally focused on the essentials of “how” to be a leader. However, the global coronavirus pandemic has brought into sharp relief the meaningful question of “but why do we do what we do?” In our search for greater clarity and self-understanding we may well have asked ourselves related questions like What gets me out of bed in the morning? What puts a spring in my step? And What’s the real value I can add?
Finding answers to these questions are key in our search for energising work where people and the planet matter and these sort of considerations are gathering pace and are unlikely to go away
Today’s topic may appear personally challenging. So, we are fortunate that Sarah Rozenthuler, highly respected speaker and author the groundbreaking book “Powered by Purpose” (see bio below) will be guiding participants through the complexities of “becoming an authentic purpose-led leader”.
Workshop Content
This interactive and experiential workshop is a journey of discovery as we explore in depth.
- A unique model of four different types of purpose to start to uncover a ‘true’ or authentic purpose rather than a counterfeit version that doesn’t bring real fulfillment.
- How you can grapple with the question of purpose in your own life and leadership
- Inspired by the growing movement of purpose-driven business, we will explore how you can start to tune into your own sense of what is yours to do.
Outputs and Benefits
The benefits of becoming purpose-led are bountiful.
- Individuals feel more alive,
- Teams are more aligned and organisations become more ambitious.
Note Sarah writes “There is, however, a rub. Without a move to greater authenticity, purpose generates cynicism. This gap is a trap that is worse than having no purpose at all and accusations of ‘purpose wash”’ abound.”
