Practical ways to repair and sustain effective relationships

As leaders we obviously have to be ‘people centric’.  That means many of us will have a ‘difficult person’ in our life.  Sometimes more than one!   Why have they entered our life?  How are we to interact more effectively?  Why exactly do we decide someone is difficult?  How would we know if we are difficult for some others?  Some tools for our Relationship Repair Kit.

Relationships, and therefore leadership, is messy.  The connecting theme for the SIBL events programme is “The Spirit of Leadership” which is really about bringing spirit to personal relationships.    It is all the more challenging as 2023 reveals increasing uncertainties and polarisation in what can be a scary VUCA new world.  With this background there can be nothing more challenging to any leader than building relationships with the people they are leading.  In particular ‘difficult people’.

During the afternoon workshop Mike will capitalise on the above as a platform for sharing some ideas and proposing that leadership requires the kind of spiritual intelligence (SQ) to be fully effective in repairing and sustaining relationships (Hence “the spirit of leadership”).

Mike George is the author of 16 books on self-understanding and the ‘personal development’ that is necessary to reawaken and restore our conscious awareness.  As a senior faculty member of Cotrugli Business School he teaches, lectures  and facilitates leadership courses and workshops.
