Background and Introduction:

Within sustainability, there is a growing awareness that businesses of the future should look to the natural world to learn how to adapt and thrive in a changing climate. Organisations that understand how to embed Earth’s principles into their products, processes, policies, and practices can flourish in times of rapid change.

According to the WWF (2020), Earth is the biggest ‘business’ around, providing an estimated USD $125 trillion of ecosystem services to humanity each year. In the workplace alone, these ecosystem services can save a business an average of £2.2k per employee in lost productivity costs (Terrapin Bright Green, 2014). 

Workshop Content:

In this session, we will explore why, when global organisations like the UN and IPBES recognise that the failing human relationship with nature is an underlying cause of our current environmental crises, our human relationship with the natural world is often overlooked when it comes to sustainability.

This relationship can not only improve the wellbeing of your workforce and help catalyse innovation but can save your business money in the long run. After interviewing 176 sustainable business leaders from around the world, Tabitha can share exactly how nature influences and impacts their work – and how you can leverage your own relationship with nature to help embed sustainability at the heart of your business.

We will explore:

Tabitha Jayne Speaker Profile

Tabitha Jayne is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coach Federation who has spent the last decade coaching leaders and teams from social enterprises, start-ups, small businesses, corporate and non-profit organisations.

She has delivered 900+ training sessions to leaders and teams in Europe, Australia, and the United States, coached over 1200 professionals to improve their soft skills and enhance their career opportunities and worked with over 300 leaders and teams in 18 countries to help them develop themselves in harmony with Earth.

Tabitha also possesses an MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology with her academic research on Earth Connection published in a peer-reviewed journal and is considered to “provide evidence of a new emerging field and a timely response to the global concerns around climate change and human stewardship of earth”.

In 2021, Tabitha pioneered an evidence-based coaching with Earth approach in virtual settings with 176 participants from 16+ countries which demonstrated that a connection to Earth online is possible. She has also trained 100+ coaches in how to coach with nature and Earth through her signature EarthConnected Coaching and is the author of Thriving Loss, The NatureProcess and Nature Embodied.

Tabitha is currently the Interim CEO for Net Zero Nation, a social enterprise on a mission to mass mobilise Scottish SMEs on their journey to Net Zero and the Founding Director of Earthself, a community interest company whose purpose is to put Earth at the Heart of Business.
