Background
Today’s lively interactive workshop come in the wake of the extensive media converge of COP26 ; more pertinent it builds on recent workshops that reviewed issues around the Environment, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG). It is focused very much on sustainability at the grass roots and specifically how that applies to participant’s own journey to date and what that looks like in the future
Introduction and Commentry (Osbert Lancaster, guest speaker)
Like most of us you worry about what our society and economy is doing to the rest of nature – and what it means for our families and for people across the world. You have been taking action and making different choices in your private life whether consciously or subconsciously, and if you haven’t already integrated sustainability into your business, you have probably started thinking about what you can do and how.
No doubt you have discovered that it’s not always easy. It can feel overwhelming: Which of the many aspects of sustainability are particularly relevant to your business? How to tackle these along with other pressing priorities? How to get colleagues and stakeholders on board? How to celebrate the progress you’re making without being accused of greenwash?”
A way forward: Each leader, each organisation will – or should – develop their own, unique path to working out how they will play their part in the greatest challenge of our times. While they will of course benefit from learning from others, drawing on existing methodologies and approaches, you need to find and follow your own sustainability leadership journey. A journey that is influenced by you, your concerns, passions, experience and expertise, and by the nature of your organisation, its customers, supply chain, community etc”.
Workshop Agenda
This workshop will be structured around a series of three reflective conversations:
– What has inspired, driven and sustained you on your sustainability journey so far?
– What lies ahead on our collective journey? And what does it mean for your journey?
– Bringing together the four essential elements of sustainability leadership to plan your unique journey.
Workshop Output
Wherever your engagement with sustainability is just starting out or deeply experienced, this workshop will help you not only to clarify your personal sustainability leadership journey, but also to identify who and what can help you make best progress from here
